It is necessary

  • - yarn;
  • - knitting needles or hook;
  • - a needle with a wide eye.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose a pattern for the head. This stage is very important, since the general appearance of the product will depend on the choice of the pattern. For winter wear, choose a dense pattern, for example, braids or weave (knitting), for a warm off-season, you can crochet a light openwork hood.

Step 2

Tie a small swatch with the pattern of your choice and see how many centimeters it is in width and height. It is impossible to predict the density of knitting in advance, since it depends not only on the thickness of the thread, but also on the size of the instrument and even on your mood.

Step 3

Cast on as many loops to get the beginning of the scarf, about 20-25 cm. For example, with a knit density of 20 loops by 10 cm, cast on 50 loops. Do not forget that the number of loops should be a multiple of the rapport (pattern), plus two edge loops. Knit with a straight cloth 68-70 cm.

Step 4

To get the shape of the hood, make a gradual extension on one side. At the end of each front row, knit two from one loop, at the beginning of each purl row, make an air loop after the hem. As a result, about 7 cm should be added on one side.

Step 5

Knit with a 28 cm wide fabric, then round the corner. To do this, subtract two loops at the end of the front row and at the beginning of the purl. To make the hood fit more tightly, knit in this way: close three loops, knit a row to the end, close the first three loops again and knit a row - a few of these techniques will make the top of the hood more rounded.

Step 6

Tie the right half of the head in the same way, just mirror the pattern. If the pattern of your piece is symmetrical about the top and bottom, you can continue knitting the right half straight from the end of the left.

Step 7

After both halves of the hood are ready, assemble them by making the back and top seams. To make the seam less visible, sew on loops or close them with a crochet. Decorate the knitted hood with a tassel or pom-poms on the cords.
