Soon after the photograph appeared, people realized that it could be used to create virtual destiny. You do not have the opportunity to go to the warm sea, it does not matter - you can pretend that you have been there. Just take pictures against the background of painted waves and palm trees, or against the background of mountains on a dashing horse … Even then, masters of photography knew how to change the background of a picture. Now, with the advent of computers and Photoshop, this can be done much more convincingly.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the original image. In this case, this is a photograph from a tourist competition, the stage is an obstacle course.

Step 2

Since the competition takes place in a forest, the photo is too dark and needs to be lightened. In the main menu go to Image, then Adjustments and select the Levels option. Move the white slider to the left to brighten the photo.

Step 3

Minimize the photo without closing it and open the second image, which will become the background. If required, resize it by choosing Image and Image Size from the main menu. Press the Ctrl key and, without releasing, click on the layer thumbnail in the layers panel. A selection appears around the image. Press Ctrl + C to save the file to the memory buffer. Now this picture can be closed by clicking on the cross in the upper right corner.

Step 4

Restore the original image. On the Layers panel, click the Create a new layer button and use the Ctrl + V key combination to paste the saved picture on a new layer. Swap the layers so that the original image is at the top and the new background is at the bottom. Stand on the layer with the main image. From the main menu choose Layer, Layer Mask, Reveal All. A white mask icon appears on the layer. If the mask is white, you only see the top layer; if black, you see the bottom. Accordingly, if black spots appear on the white mask, fragments of the lower layer will be visible under them.

Step 5

Press D to set the default colors on the toolbar. Choose a hard black brush and start removing the background around the main object of the original image. In this case, you need to hide the trees around the girl's figure, revealing a photograph of the river in order to change the background of the picture. Vary the diameter of the brush to mask out the top layer drawing as neatly as possible. However, if you are mistaken, it doesn't matter: on the toolbar, swap the black and white colors, then use a white brush to paint where you want to restore the image. Black hides what is under the mask, white - restores. After you hide the extra details, you will get an image of a girl fearlessly conquering the foamy stream along a tight rope.
