The mop is an indispensable assistant in housekeeping and general cleaning, and it is difficult to find a mistress who does not have one. However, some people do not have the time or funds to purchase a ready-made mop in the store, and a mop made with their own hands from simple materials at hand may be the way out for them.
It is necessary
- - nails or screws;
- - long stick;
- - rope or knitted fabric;
- - the cloth;
- - wire or strong cord;
- - two small socks.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest way is to make a mop from a long stick, to which a transverse bar is nailed perpendicularly, to which a rag is attached, but a mop made in the form of a paint brush will be much more convenient and functional.
Step 2
Process and grind the stick, and then step back from its edge 4-5 cm and drive two nails into the stick, placing them crosswise so that there is a distance of about one and a half centimeters between them.
Step 3
Pre-blunt the tips of the nails by hitting them with a hammer so that the stick does not crack. Do not drive nails all the way - their heads should protrude noticeably outward. Wrap the nail cross with an old sock, and then wrap the bottom edge of the stick with an old cloth, grabbing the nails.
Step 4
Put on a second sock over the fabric and tie with rags or twine. Now take a skein of cotton rope and cut it with scissors into lengths of 40-50 cm. Spread the pieces of rope on a flat surface and place the prepared stick on them so that its end, which you tied with a cloth, is in the middle of the pieces of rope.
Step 5
Pull these pieces around the stick using a strong flexible wire or cord, gently distribute them around the entire circumference of the stick, and then tie a tight, secure knot. Use scissors to cut off the excess ends of the fabric sticking out from under the rope bundle. Place the mop upright - you should have a lush rope brush at the end.
