Every girl dreams of a gorgeous dress in which you can imagine yourself as a real princess. With a little effort, any mom is able to make this dream come true. Sewing a princess dress with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a bodice pattern. In order to make a bodice pattern, we need a child's sleeveless T-shirt. First you need to determine the waistline. Put a T-shirt on your child and tie it with a belt. Mark the waistline with chalk.
Fold the shirt in half and fix it on tracing paper or graph paper. Circle the front first, then the back - this way you get the bodice pattern.
Step 2
Transfer the pattern to the fabric. The front of the bodice is best done solid. The clasp of the princess dress is located on the back, so cut the back of the bodice out of two halves. When transferring the pattern to the fabric, do not forget about the seam allowances - you need to add 1 cm on the sides, and 3 cm along the waistline.
Step 3
Sweep the front and back of the bodice at the side seams. Perform a seam on the back to the middle. Try on the bodice, seams up. Correct possible errors. Carefully remove the workpiece and baste the zipper into the slit on the back. Sew all seams. Sew a bias tape over the neckline and sleeves and sew. The princess dress bodice is ready.
Step 4
For the bottom of the princess dress, it is advisable to take two fabrics of the same color, but different textures. It is better to make the upper skirt from a light translucent fabric, and the lower one from a denser one. Two layers will allow you to get the right volume.
The width of the fabric can be calculated by multiplying the width of the bodice by 4 (for a petticoat) and 5 (for an upskirt). However, these figures are relative - the wider the canvas, the more magnificent the skirt will turn out. The length is selected individually, but do not forget that dresses below the knee look most impressive.
Sew the side cuts - you should have a "pipe". Gather one edge of this "pipe" so that the circumference is equal to the circumference of the bodice. Do this for both skirts.
Step 5
Match both skirts and sew them along the waist. Stitch the resulting two-layer skirt to the bodice. It is desirable to process all seams with an overlock.
The princess's dress is almost ready - all that remains is to decorate it. For decoration, you can use beads, sequins, rhinestones, lace and fabric flowers. If you decide to sew a princess dress for the New Year's ball, then a fluffy "rain" decoration will be appropriate.
