Very few domestic games and games from neighboring countries are produced. And those that exist are of very low quality. The games that have gained recognition and have a huge fan base can be counted on one hand - Metro 2033, Stalker, Behind Enemy Lines, and Heroes. The most addictive of all of these games is the S. T. A. L. K. E. R series that has gained popularity around the world. And so many foreign publishers are interested in buying the rights to this game.

Game "Stalker"

The developer of the game is the Ukrainian studio GSC Game world, which was created in 1995 by the programmer Sergei Grigorovich. This studio became famous for the video game "Cossacks".

Sergey Grigorovich is a computer game developer, businessman, founder of the GSC Game World studio. Was born in Kiev in 1978.

At the beginning of the 2000s, at one of the game exhibitions, the studio developers showed the first developments of their new game with an open world and a post-apocalyptic "setting". Ukrainian developers took as the basis for the plot and elaboration of the game universe the motives of the books of the Strugatsky brothers. The first title of this game was Stalker Oblivion Lost. It took 7 long years to develop. The public called this game "Zhdalker". In 2007, the authors decided to name it differently: Stalker shadow of Chernobyl. Finally, she came out.

Stalker stood out from all open world games in that it has a very intense atmosphere, great attention to detail, and many different locations. For example, "City of Pripyat", "Chernobyl nuclear power plant", "Dump of abandoned equipment", "Research Institute Agroprom". There are not only unique locations in the game, but also in the “exclusion zone” itself there are different animals: mutant rats, foreign creatures - “chimeras” with the habits of a panther, which can jump from an ambush and easily kill the main character and other “stalkers”, "Kinks" - with an extra limb, "burers" - dwarfs with telepathic abilities.

The future of the game "Stalker 2"

In 2010, the Ukrainian studio announced Stalker 2 as a continuation of Stalkera 1. But in 2011, the head of the studio, Sergei Grigorovich, announced the freeze of the project. From unofficial sources, it is known that now two publishers want to buy the rights to the game: Bethesda Softworks and BitComposer Games. Publisher Bethesda Softworks is well known in gamer circles for its games: the fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls and the apocalyptic RPG Fallout. German publisher BitComposer Games - Jagged Alliance game releases. But so far, all rights to the game belong only to Sergey Grigorovich, that is, the head of the GSC game world studio.

Bethesda Softworks is an American company that develops and publishes computer games for consoles and personal computers. It was founded in 1986 by Christopher Weaver.

Bethesda Softworks itself refuses to comment on this, BitComposer Games is ready to buy the rights. So the future of the Stalker 2 project remains very vague and unknown. When the official news from the head of the studios GSC Game world and Bethesda Softworks will appear is unknown, it remains only to wait. The latest news came in 2013. A year has passed, but there is still no news from developers and candidates for the purchase of rights and is not expected in the near future.
