Fofucha - this is the name for cute big-headed dolls made of foamiran (modern craft material). For the first time, needlewomen from Brazil began to make them, and soon cute dolls won the hearts of craftswomen around the world. It is not difficult to make them, because foamiran is very malleable, so even a child can cope with the work.
Materials for making dolls from foamiran
- colored sheets of foamiran (beige for the face and body and multi-colored for clothes, shoes and dolls);
- 1 foam ball with a diameter of 60 mm;
- 2 foam balls with a diameter of 50 mm;
- 1 foam ball with a diameter of 40 mm;
- bamboo stick;
- toothpick;
- glue heat gun;
- scissors;
- ruler;
- pencil;
- acrylic paints or gouache;
- iron;
- marker;
- wire;
- powder and eye shadow.
How to make a doll's head step by step
- Make a head from flesh-colored foamiran. Cut out a circle and heat the part with an iron for 20 seconds. Stretch the material slightly and place it over a large Styrofoam ball. Gently pulling on the foamiran, tighten half of the head blank. Cut off the excess edges.
- From a yellow, brown, orange or black Thomas, make the hair of the pupa. Do this in the same way as you made the doll's face. Heat the part and fit the second hemisphere of the head blank with it. Cut off the excess edges, and connect the joints with a glue gun.
- Get your hair done. Cut into thin strips of foamiran. Wrap them around a pencil and heat with an iron. This will create curls. You can weave braids from strips or make a hairstyle from "straight hair". Glue the details of the hairstyle to the head with a glue gun.

Draw the doll's face. Use a black marker (or gel pen) to draw the outlines of the eyes, lips, and brow. Paint them with paints, and make blush and shadows using ordinary cosmetics.

- Cut the 40 mm foam ball in half. Cut out the pattern for the doll's body using the template. Wrap it in a cone and insert the foam piece into the bottom.

Heat the panty blank with an iron and wrap the lower part of the body with it.
Image - For the legs, cut a wooden skewer into pieces about 7-8 cm long. Cut out rectangles from flesh-colored fom and wrap the skewers with them. Secure the edges with a glue gun.
- Cut the balls, the size of which is 50 mm and 40 mm, in half. Cut off the side from each of the parts. Join the sides of the larger and smaller blanks and glue. This will create your feet. Trim them in a suitable color. Insert your legs into the feet and the underside of the doll's body.
- Smear the top of the body and the bottom of the head with glue. Insert a piece of wire or a toothpick and stick your head into the body part. Glue the pieces together.
- The next step is making clothes for the doll. Dress, blouse, skirt, trousers are made both from Thomas sheets and from pieces of fabric. The outfit can be decorated with lace and braid.
- The last step is making doll handles. Cut a piece of wire 10 cm long and insert it into the place where the arms are attached. Cut out rectangles from the flesh-colored Thomas and wrap them around the wire, securing the edges with glue. Cut out the palms and secure them to the arms.
- The craft is ready. It can be installed on a stand, so the doll will stand firmly on its feet.
