The coming 2018 according to the Chinese calendar is the Year of the Dog. For New Year's celebrations, as an addition to gifts, you can make your own fridge magnets - a symbol of 2018. Sculpting is also an interesting and useful activity for children.

Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work, you need to decide on the size and breed of the dog, which we will depict by means of modeling from clay. Let's analyze the procedure using the example of a dog of the Airedale Terrier breed.
Step 2
Using a pencil on paper, draw a silhouette of a dog. You can print the picture on a printer, of course. Remove the extra lines with the eraser. We take small scissors and carefully cut out the resulting pattern.
Step 3
Take a pre-prepared piece of wet clay, cutting off small pieces of material with a palette knife, fill in our entire paper blank.
Step 4
The clay layer should not be too thin, since there is a risk of deep cracks on the entire surface of the product during the drying process, as well as its deformation.
Step 5
Further, armed with a brush dipped in water, we remove all irregularities, achieving the desired result. Now take a toothpick or a needle and draw curls on the back and curls on the back of the clay Airedale terrier.
Step 6
Then you can put the workpiece in the cabinet and dry it thoroughly for 2-3 days. Or paint the Airedale while the clay is still wet, and then dry and bake.
Step 7
Cool the finished figurine, remove the paper, glue the magnet and cover with varnish, if desired.
