Take a look around. Surely in your home there is a huge number of things, using which you can make a beautiful and necessary thing, for example, a box for storing jewelry or handicrafts.

How to make a box

It is necessary

  • - corrugated cardboard;
  • - cardboard base from under the tape;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - lace, ribbons, sequins, beads, shells;
  • - decoupage cards or multilayer napkins;
  • - postcards.

Instructions

Step 1

To make the box, use the cardboard base that remained from the scotch tape. Cut out two round pieces for the bottom and lid from thick corrugated cardboard. To do this, place a cardboard cylinder, circle and cut out. All details are ready.

Step 2

Spread one edge of the base for adhesive tape with PVA glue and attach to the part for the bottom. Press and hold for a few minutes. Glue a small piece of thin satin ribbon to the lid part. Glue the other end of the tape to the cylinder. Thus, we have a blank for the box. It remains to decorate it. Here you can give free rein to your imagination.

Step 3

Paint the box with acrylics. Thickly cover the side walls and lid with PVA glue. Glue whatever you like: seashells brought from the sea, bright feathers, artificial flowers made from satin ribbons, pieces of lace.

Step 4

Have a lot of beautiful postcards accumulated in your apartment? But you can also make a pretty box out of them. You will need ten postcards of the same size. Cut two of them in half. Join the cards in pairs with the colorful sides facing out, and sew over the edge with a buttonhole. Use a contrasting color for knitting. Gather all the parts like a box and sew them together. Sew the part for the cover on one side. So you get another box in which you can store all sorts of "treasures".

Step 5

If you have an ordinary wooden box, then it can be turned into an exclusive one using the decoupage technique. To do this, you will need a decoupage card, which can be purchased at any art salon, or ordinary multilayer napkins with an interesting pattern.

Step 6

Prime the walls and lid of the wooden box and cover with PVA glue. Peel off the top color layer from a napkin or decoupage card and gently stick to the surface. Spread everything out carefully with a brush. Cover the top with another layer of glue. After it's dry, coat the box with water-based varnish. To keep the drawing stronger, apply two or three coats of varnish, but keep in mind that the previous coat must dry completely.
