Remember how in the fairy tale about Cinderella the fairy turned the pumpkin into a carriage. Feeling like a sorceress and making a miracle with your own hands is quite accessible to many, for this you need a pumpkin and simple tools and materials that can be found at home.
Required materials and stages of making a carriage for Cinderella
You will need:
- one medium-sized pumpkin;
- 4 small pumpkins of approximately the same size;
- sharp knife;
- black marker;
- 2 wooden skewers for barbecue;
- glue "Moment";
- a can of gold or silver paint;
- scraps of fabric;
- scissors.
Take a medium sized pumpkin. Cut the top into a hexagon. Remove the seeds and pulp from the pumpkin. It is very convenient to scrape them out with a spoon. Cut the flesh at all edges of the hole and tops at an angle.
Draw windows and doors on the skin of the pumpkin. They should be located on both sides of the future carriage. Using a sharp knife, cut through the skin and flesh and cut out the details along the contours.
Make wheels for the carriage from small pumpkins. Sharpen the kebab skewers on both sides and stick them into the pumpkins from the tail side. Superglue the wheels to the carriage. Color the craft in the desired color. Please note that this must be done outdoors, on a balcony or staircase.
When the paint is dry, you can start decorating the carriage. Cut out rectangles for the curtains from the scraps of fabric. Glue the top of the details to the windows, decorate them with beads or sequins.
How to keep a pumpkin craft for a long time
Like any other vegetables, pumpkin is prone to rotting. There are several techniques that can help keep your craft going for longer.
A disinfectant solution will help prevent spoilage. Pour 1 tablespoon of "Whiteness" into one liter of water, stir and lower the pumpkin for 2-3 hours. Then wipe the fruit dry. Lubricate all sections and the inside with Vaseline or vegetable oil. Apply a small layer to the pulp and let dry. After that, you can start painting and decorating the craft.
Place the carriage out of direct sunlight and moisturize periodically. To do this, spray it with a disinfectant solution. This will help preserve the appearance of the craft for 1-2 months.
