Bright and beautiful educational toys are necessary for every child for the full development of his creative and intellectual abilities. Many parents buy such toys in the store, but a much more expensive and valuable gift for a child will be an educational toy made by the loving hands of mom and dad. An interactive and useful subject in which a child can find a lot of interesting and new things for himself will be a soft developing book, suitable even for the smallest children.

Instructions

Step 1

When creating a soft book, connect your imagination and extract everything that can be useful for needlework from home cabinets. You will need a variety of pieces of colored fabric, braid, beads, appliques, beads, laces, elastic bands, Velcro, paper and cellophane, colored cardboard, and much more.

Step 2

For sewing the pages themselves, use a multi-colored fabric, gluing it from the inside with non-woven fabric for strength. You can put a sheet of padding polyester inside each page - so the book will be more voluminous.

Step 3

Think over a sketch of the book in advance and sketch the contents of each page on paper. For kids, you should not make a book from a large number of pages - five or six sheets are enough, each of which will have two sides.

Step 4

Choose what color each page will be and, accordingly, mark the desired cuts of the fabric with the outlines of the page with allowances for the seams along which the fabric is to be cut. Do not forget to make holes on each finished page and decorate them with eyelets, or sew eyelets to the page - then the book can be easily disassembled, add a new page to it, and then reassemble it on a ribbon or lace.

Step 5

In the process of sewing each page, insert a layer of synthetic winterizer between two layers of fabric glued with non-woven fabric. Place a piece of cardboard in the cover fabric to keep the book thick and strong. Glue the non-removable fabric appliqués with interlining from the inside and stitch to the pages with a zigzag seam.

Step 6

Some appliqués can be made convex - for this, before sewing, fill in the space between the applique and the fabric of the page with a padding polyester. Sew the removable elements to the Velcro - it can be the sun, the moon, clouds, flowers, and so on. The child will be able to move removable applications through the pages and glue them to new places.

Step 7

Attach some elements of the book to the lace, and sew the lace to the page so that the pictures and figures can be raised and lowered up. For example, on the basis of this principle, you can create an aquarium page.

Step 8

In order for the child to develop fine motor skills, it is useful to make one of the pages of the book in the form of holes and lacing, which the child can unlace and lace back up. Also useful will be a pocket fastened with Velcro, which will contain a variety of objects - pieces of fabric, fur, keys, large beads tied to a thread, and so on.

Step 9

A house page will help develop creative thinking and imagination, in which the child can open doors and windows, see what is happening “inside” the house, and also move the figures of residents from floor to floor.

Step 10

For appliqués and figurines, use non-flowing soft fabrics - felt, fleece, flannel. Also sew a variety of fasteners, buttons of different shapes and colors to the book, and much more. Such a book will entertain the kid and help him develop his abilities.
