Step 1
Provence-style decoupage can be done on small furnishings. Kitchen boards are ideal for this. Having picked up napkins for decoupage with traditional symbols of Provence, decoupage several boards in the same style. They can perfectly decorate the Provence style kitchen wall.
Step 2
In order to make Provence style decoupage, prepare the surface of the wooden boards. Go over it with sandpaper. Then coat the surface with white acrylic primer. After the primer is dry, treat the surface with acrylic varnish. Remove the two lower layers from the decoupage napkin, tear off the edge of the napkin with your hands. Then pour some water diluted with PVA glue on the file. Place the napkin on top of the file, face side up. Straighten to avoid wrinkles. Remove excess liquid. Press the boards to the surface and carefully remove the file. Wait for the napkin to dry on the board.
Step 3
Cover the surface of the board with acrylic varnish. Place purple, white and black acrylic paint on a palette. Mix to achieve a color identical to the lavender on the napkin. Apply some of the resulting paint to a dry sponge. Walk along the edge of the board. In order to make Provence style decoupage, apply a little paint with a sponge all over the board. Draw individual fragments of the drawing with a contour. Then cover the entire surface of the board with acrylic varnish. Decorate the board with ribbons or raffia in color.
For decoupage in Provence style, napkins with traditional symbols of Provence are ideal: lavender, herbs, cockerel.
