From time immemorial, needlework for Russian women has been a traditional form of leisure. We can safely say that now there is another creative boom in our country. Developing technologies offer craftswomen all the new names of materials, the meaning of which is not immediately clear. For example, what is a floristic tape?
Three girls under the window were spinning late in the evening
Women and girls in Russia always did needlework: they embroidered, knitted, spun and weaved, sewed dowry … And always alongside purely applied activities, a decorative component went hand in hand. To make the shirt for her beloved not only warm and durable, but also beautiful, the girl would embroider patterns on it on long evenings with a dull torch. Today there is no need to decorate with ornaments men's and women's shirts made from self-woven cloth bleached in the sun. However, in our time, young girls, following the elders, again knit lace napkins, embroider paintings and icons with a cross and satin stitch, are engaged in beading and floristry.
One of the fashionable trends in decorative art is quilling. Translated from English, this word means "bird feather". Quilling is the art of making various crafts, compositions, including flowers, from paper.

It is also just decoration with flowers, other parts of plants of human living space. Floristry is an ancient art, which in each country has its own history, traditions, experience, its own original tastes and a set of plants. In addition to the flowers and stems themselves, floristry cannot do without additional auxiliary materials.

Floristic tape is a tape, usually 13 mm wide, made of waxed paper or synthetic base, rolled into a spool. Outwardly, it resembles a colored electrical tape, besides the teip tape (its second name) has a slight adhesive effect.
The name "floristic" indicates its most common area of application. There is also floristic wire of different diameters for stems, floristic moss. All this is widely used in quilling.
Floristic tape is used for wrapping wooden or wire stems in paper floristry, as well as for making boutonnieres from fresh flowers. Originally produced in only brown and green colors, today it comes in a wide variety of colors.
