PVC material is difficult to adhere, so seams on PVC boats are usually vulcanized or welded. These are quite reliable methods, but they are difficult to implement outside the factory. Some manufacturers apply seam tape to the seams for greater strength. Applied on the outside, it also serves as a decorative function.
