It is necessary

  • - satin fabric or natural silk (for the top layer);
  • - coarse calico fabric (for the bottom layer);
  • - viscose braid;
  • - lacing blocks;
  • - hooks and loops;
  • - special "bones" for the corset;
  • - measuring tools and sewing accessories.

Instructions

Step 1

Measure your bust, waist and hips, and your barrel height. The first three measurements are recorded in half, the last measurement in full.

Step 2

Draw a pattern. Draw three horizontal lines for the chest, waist and bottom, and two vertical lines for the total width of the corset. Next, you should carefully draw all the details of the product. You need to start from the back, then the details of the barrels are drawn, last of all - in front of the future corset. It is important not to forget to make an allowance for fasteners and lacing.

Step 3

According to the pattern, make and sweep the details. They should be sewn with a short stitch for the first trying on. Be sure to check how the corset parts fit together, mark the waist line.

Step 4

Connect the top and bottom layers of the corset. Cut off excess material. Iron the material thoroughly. Now you can finally sew the corset.

Step 5

Make the clasps. The front closure is made from hooks and loops. The shaping corset should have a lacing that is located at the back. To do this, insert the blocks vertically into the back and pull through the viscose tape. Lacing is done crosswise.

Step 6

Make vertical drawstrings in the seams of the corset, insert the bones into them. These bones should not reach the top and bottom by about one and a half centimeters. Close up bones by hand.

Step 7

Stitch the top and bottom of the garment with a strip of fabric. So, you managed to make a corset yourself.
