First, try to compose the simplest song in structure. The most common song pattern is verses interspersed with a chorus. There are usually 2-3 verses, followed by a chorus. In such a standard song, the chorus should be the brightest and most expressive part of the song, its melody should not only be different, but also more emotional than the verse. You can add a chord to the chorus that was not in the verse, you can even play it on other chords or with a different beat. The main thing is to hum the song all the time to get the optimal melody that suits the song. Try to record all your attempts on a dictaphone - for this, you usually have a phone or an mp3 player at hand. Losing a beautiful melody is quite sad and insulting.

Combine the verses with the chorus - sing the song from beginning to end. Now you can think about the intro and all sorts of other musical "embellishments" for your song. The introduction can be played by brute-force on the chords used in the song, best of all in the chorus - so the chorus melody will immediately be caught by the listener.

Experiment and do not stop at one way of composing songs - listen to as many songs of your favorite artists as possible, try to catch how their songs are made, try to imitate them, gradually developing your own style.
