Instructions

Step 1

Station "Revolution Square" of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line - one of the very first stations of the Moscow metro, was put into operation in the pre-war 1937. The uniqueness of this station is given by 76 bronze sculptures placed in the arches along the platforms and in the central hall. These sculptures are frozen living symbols of the times of the October Revolution, the Civil War and the subsequent years of the formation of Soviet power: soldiers, sailors, collective farmers, workers, pioneers and schoolchildren - 4 copies of each sculpture (more precisely, only 18 are presented four times, and two - twice). Passengers of the Moscow metro, being at the Ploshchad Revolyutsii station, can observe how people constantly stop near this or that sculpture and begin to rub and stroke some bronze elements, all of which have already been polished to a mirror shine.

Step 2

The sculpture of a border guard with a dog is especially popular. The border guard is of no particular interest to anyone, but the dog, or rather four dogs, is constantly in the spotlight. The tradition of stroking the nose of a bronze animal was invented in 1938 by students of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, which is located on the same metro line at the Shchelkovskaya station. One of the students decided that if you stroke a dog's nose before the exam, then the exam will be passed successfully. Then it was thought that stroking a dog's paw would bring good luck in the test.

Initially, only one of the four dogs was considered "magic" - the one that is at the exit from the third carriage from the end of the train in the direction from the center to the "Shchelkovskaya". Later, all four dogs were endowed with magical properties, and students of not only Baumanka, but also other universities were drawn to them. It's funny, but sometimes in the midst of a session, whole crowds gather around the bronze dogs, or even queues of students line up. Some before the exam specially go to the dog "for good luck", even if the university is located on the other side of Moscow. You can observe scenes when a young man or girl jumps out of a train that has approached, grabs the dog by the nose, and then manages to jump back into the car before the doors close. Aerobatics - rub the noses of all four dogs, then there will definitely be at least "four" in the record.

Over time, not only students, but also other citizens fell in love with the dog: they stroke their noses and paws for good luck, for luck in business, just so that the day is successful. Some fleetingly touch the sculpture as they pass by, while others stand for a long time, muttering something and almost praying for the bronze animal. Does the dog grant wishes? Most likely, otherwise it would not have enjoyed such popularity.

Step 3

Another sculpture, loved by passengers of the Ploschad Revolutsii station, is a bird-house with a rooster and a hen. It is believed that if you rub the beak of a rooster, then the financial situation will certainly improve: a person will receive a bonus, a promotion, an increase in salary. As a result, the rooster's beak glitters like gold. However, there is another opinion that the rooster, and even more so its beak, cannot be simply stroked, but even accidentally touched - this can bring misfortune. Therefore, if someone wants to experiment, four roosters are at your service every day.

Step 4

Girls seeking a serious relationship with a young man, or even marriage, approach the statue of a student reading a book. It is enough to rub the bronze shoe - and you can wait for your prince! A student with a shoe also "helps" those who already have a couple, and she is threatened with discord: touching the shoe will prevent unhappy love.

Step 5

The sculpture of a mother with a child also naturally attracts young girls and women. It is logical that the various details of this sculpture concern those who have a desire to give birth to a child, as well as pregnant women who ask for a successful birth. Sometimes you can see representatives of the weaker sex who run their palm over the chest of a bronze woman - one can only guess for what purpose.

Step 6

People also endowed the sculpture of a sailor with a revolver with magical properties. It is this revolver that is the subject of attention: if you touch it, or better - rub it, then success in business will be ensured! The muzzle of the revolver is stroked before the conclusion of contracts and important transactions. Several times the revolver disappeared from the hands of the sailor altogether - the "magic" weapon was simply impudently stolen, but the restorers each time carefully restored the sculpture.
