Step 1
The first step is to decide which animal our rug will look like. This can be solved together with the child (in this case, the lion was chosen). After the animal is selected, we start knitting.
Step 2
First, we knit the body of our animal. To do this, knit a chain with a brown thread with air loops 70 centimeters long. Then we knit 60 cm double crochets on this chain. After that, we cut the thread.
Step 3
The next step is to knit the lion's paws. With a brown thread, you need to tie three lifting loops in one of the corners of the rectangle, tie 16 loops along the side edge and knit with double crochets. By the end of the paw, subtract a few posts and round off the edges. Tie the remaining three legs in the same way.
Step 4
Then you need to tie the lion's head. One way is to make a square head, for this you need to type the columns directly on the body and knit a square. Or you can tie the head separately in the form of a circle, and then attach it to the body. The head needs to be decorated with a mane (hook the cut threads) and sew on the eyes. The muzzle can be embroidered with yellow threads, or it can be knitted separately and sewn on.
Step 5
It remains only to attach the tail from a lace or crocheted ribbon. We tie a bow on the tail - and our home lion rug is ready.
