It is necessary

  • -needle
  • - threads (preferably in the color of the fabric)
  • -scissors
  • -the cloth

Instructions

Step 1

Choose the fabric from which you will sew the cape. It is better to take a light fabric so that the cape does not wrinkle the clothes that you are going to save. Cut a square out of it, this will be the base of your cape. Traditional hanger covers are 55x55 cm, but you can easily change them if you need a bigger one.

Step 2

Think about how you would like to finish the edges of your cape. They can be simply hemmed if you just need a functional cape. If you have time and a lot of rags in stock, fantasize! The edges can be trimmed with fabric in a different color, lace or trimmed with a bias tape.

Step 3

Finish the corners of your cape. To do this, cut out circles from cardboard or some other waterproof material, for example, plastic, so that the cape can be washed. Cut out circles from the fabric that are about twice the diameter of the cardboard / plastic circles. Now sew over the circles with a cloth and attach them to each corner.

Step 4

If the things in the closet hang tight enough, then you can attach weights to the corners so that neighboring clothes do not lift the cape. To do this, also cut out circles from the fabric, but you can sew small metal balls inside them. When you're done decorating the cape, move on to the next step.

Step 5

Make a small hole in your cape so that the hanger hook can easily pass through. Now start finishing the hole you made. It can be trimmed around the edges with a cloth or simply finished with threads. A cape for your favorite thing is ready! Creative success!
