A cover is an essential attribute of any modern gadget, including a tablet. It helps not only to protect it from mechanical damage, thereby extending its service life, but also to give individuality to its owner. You can hardly find an original accessory in the store, so it is better to make it yourself. So how do you make your own tablet case?
It is necessary
- - thick cardboard;
- - ruler;
- - scissors;
- - pins;
- - sewing machine;
- - the cloth;
- - elastic tape;
- - threads to match the fabric.
Instructions
Step 1
Tablets differ from each other not only in models, but also in their dimensions. Therefore, before proceeding with the manufacture of a case for a tablet, it is necessary to measure the dimensions of the device using a ruler, namely: width, height and length. According to the data obtained, 5 parts should be cut out of cardboard. In the event that no cardboard was found, you can use book covers or chipboard. The details of the sample correspond to the following parameters: 20x16.5 cm, 20x1 cm, 20x7.5 cm, 20x1 cm and 20x15 cm.
Step 2
From the selected material, you need to cut 3 rectangular elements. One of them is equal to the size of three pieces of cardboard, the other is equal to the other two, and the last is equal to the size of all together. When cutting out rectangles, it is necessary to take into account that an additional couple of centimeters will be required for the seams.
Step 3
Cut 4 equal pieces from the elastic tape and sew each of them at the corners of the smallest rectangle made of fabric. Thus, you will get fasteners that will securely fix the tablet in a do-it-yourself case.
Step 4
Next, the resulting part needs to be connected to the middle rectangle made of fabric. The elements must be attached to each other so that the front sides are inside, and sew them on the far left.
Step 5
On top of the formed part, the largest rectangle should be placed with the front side inward. Then, using pins, fasten the sides. Cut a piece of the required size from the elastic tape and insert it between the fixed elements so that it is at the level of the corners. Sew the future tablet case on three sides on a sewing machine.
Step 6
After the operations done, it is necessary to turn the part out to the front side. Place the corresponding cardboard elements in the cover in order. Each of the rectangles must be fixed with a machine stitch.
Step 7
After fixing the cardboard elements, there should be a couple of centimeters of loose fabric. They must be hidden as follows: gently bend into the tablet case and manually sewn with sliding stitches with a thread of a suitable color.
Step 8
It remains to try on the product for the gadget. Tablet case is ready to use!
