Very often, in children's institutions, the New Year's carnival is combined with theatrical performances. And that's when your child gets a goose costume instead of the coveted pirate or spider-man costume. Well, well, you shouldn't panic and rush to the shops in search of a suitable model at all. Even not the most experienced dressmaker can sew such a suit on his own.
It is necessary
- - white or gray blended fabric;
- - tight baseball cap with a long visor;
- - thin white or gray jersey;
- - red or yellow fabric;
- - linen elastic;
- - threads to match;
- - wide satin ribbon of white color;
- - two large black buttons or a pair of eyes from an old toy;
- - knee-highs or tights of red (yellow) color.
Instructions
Step 1
For any of the simplest patterns, sew a shirt with long, loose sleeves from the main fabric. Instead of cuffs, slip elastic into the drawstring so that the sleeves are nicely gathered.
Step 2
Decorate the neckline with a satin ribbon frill and sew on the ties.
Step 3
Sew pants with a length just below the knees from the main fabric. At the bottom, collect them with an elastic band. The trousers should be fluffy and slouchy. If you have enough sewing skills, you can decorate the bottom of the legs with a satin ribbon frill in two or three rows.
Step 4
Do not get carried away by the complexity of the pattern. Both the pants and the shirt are just the basis for the suit, keep them quite simple.
Step 5
Remove the wing pattern from the child. Stand the baby upright with straight arms outstretched to the sides. Measure the distance from one wrist to the other through the seventh cervical vertebra. This is the width of the wingspan.
Step 6
Measure the distance from the seventh cervical vertebra to the tailbone or just below. This is the size of the wings themselves.
Step 7
Fold the base fabric in half. Measure half the wingspan along the top cut from the fold. Set aside the size of the second measurement along the fold line. You now have two points at the ends of the perpendicular lines. Connect these points with a smooth semicircular line.
Step 8
Spread your wings. Using scissors, cut elongated teeth with rounded tips along the cut line, imitating feathers. If the fabric does not peel off too much, and you do not plan to use the suit more than once, the cut can be skipped. Otherwise, the jagged line will have to be sewn with a zigzag seam on a typewriter or overcast by hand.
Step 9
You can paint the wings with fabric paints or regular markers. For example, draw feathers more clearly. But keep in mind that a regular marker will not withstand washing.
Step 10
Sew the wings to the shoulder line of the shirt and along the sleeves from cuff to cuff.
Step 11
Cover the baseball cap with thin jersey of a suitable color. An old T-shirt or T-shirt will work very well for this.
Step 12
Cover the visor with a red or yellow cloth. This will be the beak. Sew two ovals of the same fabric just above the beak to indicate the goose's eyes. Attach buttons to the ovals.
Step 13
Choose shoes that are appropriate for the location where the show is going to be. Wear matching tights or knee-highs, pants, a top with wings, and a baseball cap for your child. Undoubtedly, your goose will be the most fun.
