Do you want to take part in fiery Russian dances, but you still can't do it? See a good choreographer or practice dancing on your own, following a few simple rules.
Instructions
Step 1
Assess the level of your physical fitness adequately, since many dance movements require significant effort. If necessary, combine training in Russian dance with classes in a fitness club.
Step 2
Decide which type of Russian dance suits you best (round dance, dance-improvisation, game dances).
Step 3
Find musical material for teaching Russian dance.
Step 4
Pay attention to the features inherent in all Russian dances: breadth of movement, cheerfulness of performance, competitiveness (especially characteristic of dance-improvisations).
Step 5
Learn all the necessary dance combinations, first without musical accompaniment, and then with music, gradually coordinating your movements with the musical rhythm. If you are going to perform group dances, do not forget about interacting with other participants during the one-to-one lessons.
Step 6
Since Russian dances are usually accompanied by songs or recitative, learn songs or words. The Russian round dance is often compared to folk opera, and play dances and improvisation dances are often compared to situations taken from family life or even animal life. To fully reveal the chosen image, take some acting lessons.
Step 7
If you decide to take part in improvisational dances, then in order to introduce the necessary element of surprise into your dance, learn in advance those combinations that you want to use and use them against rivals only when you bring their execution to automatism. When improvising, never follow your opponents in combinations that require training those muscle groups to which you paid little attention. The duration of such improvisations can be very different, until only one participant remains on the dance "battlefield". Therefore, when preparing for a performance, calculate your strength in advance.
