It is necessary

  • - a pool table;
  • - cue;
  • - billiard balls.

Instructions

Step 1

Nine is played with a cue ball (an unnumbered ball) and nine numbered balls. Ball numbers are assigned from one to nine. During the game, strikes must be made with the cue ball on the ball with the lowest number on the table. Otherwise, a violation of the rules is counted. In this case, you do not need to score balls in ascending or decreasing order of numbers. The player continues the game without passing the right to kick to the opponent until he breaks the rules, makes a mistake, or ends the game by pocketing a nine. When the right to strike passes to the opponent, he accepts the existing arrangement of balls on the table. If this transition is due to a violation of the rules, it is possible to play "from hand", that is, to set the cue-ball, at its discretion, at any point on the table. A match consists of a specified number of games.

Step 2

The game begins with a strike called "initial". It is governed by the same rules as all other strikes, but has some nuances. First, the cue-ball must hit ball number one and pocket any of the object balls, or pin a minimum of four number balls to the board. Secondly, a cue ball that has fallen into a pocket or jumped overboard is considered a violation of the rules. In this case, the partner who entered the game can place the cue-ball at any place on the playing table. Thirdly, during the execution of the initial strike, it is a violation to jump overboard the targeting (numbered) ball. Back it is not exposed (except for the nine).

Step 3

In the game "Nine" there are wrong shots, which are a sign of violation. These include improper touch and failure to reach the side. An improper touch is characterized by the initial hit of the cue ball on a ball that is not the lowest number on the table. If, during the strike, none of the aiming balls was sent into the pocket, then the requirement to bring at least one ball to the side must be met, otherwise the strike will be recognized as incorrect.
