Modern man increasingly prefers audiobooks to traditional paper editions. After all, such a book can be "read" anywhere, it does not take up much space and does not lead to eye fatigue.

It is necessary

  • - a computer;
  • - the text of the work;
  • - programs for reading text / for sound recording;
  • - headphones with a microphone.

Instructions

Step 1

You can record an audiobook yourself. Use search engines to find an electronic copy of the desired work. If it is not available on the Internet (although rarely, it still happens), scan it from the book. Then use ABBYY FineReader to recognize the scanned text.

Step 2

Next, download one of the programs that convert text files into sound files. The simplest popular free programs of this type include Govorilka, Ice Book Reader, NextUp TextAloud. Install one of them on your computer. In the description of the program, check if there is a voice engine in the main archive, or if it needs to be downloaded separately. The main types of voice engines for such programs are Acapela and Alyona. If they are missing in the basic version, download them separately and install according to the instructions.

Step 3

Next, open the program and copy the text of your book there. In the settings, select a voice (male or female), voice tone, reading speed. The program will do the rest for you. At the end of your work, save the recorded file to your hard drive or removable media.

Step 4

But if you need to record a novel in verse, this option for creating an audiobook is not suitable. The fact is that programs designed to read text are good at writing prose. But they have not yet succeeded in intoning verses properly, especially with complex punctuation.

Step 5

To convert a lyric work into audio format yourself, read it with the desired expression. Divide your text into passages. Read each of them several times. Then close the doors, windows, try to minimize the ambient noise.

Step 6

Next, take headphones with a microphone and connect them to your computer. Use the standard Sound Recorder found in the Start menu. Listen to the resulting passage. If your voice is too quiet, turn up the volume.

Step 7

If there is a lot of extraneous noise, use a specialized program for processing sound files (Sound Forge, Free Audio Recorder, Total Recorder, etc.). With its help, you can not only remove noise, but also accompany your audiobook with calm music, the sound of the surf, etc.
