Instructions

Step 1

Most Zenit cameras have a flip-up back cover. To open it, lift the film rewind head up until it clicks. Open the camera. The loaded film cassette is placed in the left slot and locked by lowering the rewind head. The end of the film is fed into the take-up spool on the right. Turn the shutter cocking lever to make sure that the film is firmly attached to the spool.

Step 2

Before opening the chamber for discharging, disengage the shutter mechanism and rewind the film into the cassette.

Step 3

The shutter release button can be located near the cocking lever, as in the Zenit-E and Zenit-19 devices. In the Zenit-E model, in contrast to the Zenit-19, it is necessary to constantly hold it while rewinding the film.

Step 4

In Zenit-ET, the shutter is deactivated by a ring located under the shutter button. Press it until it clicks. Also, the shutter release button can be on the bottom of the camera, like in Zenit-APK.

Step 5

Early models of this brand, for example, Zenit-S, open from the bottom. To open the camera, turn it upside down. On the right you will see a lock that locks the bottom cover. Lift the bow of the lock and turn it half a turn counterclockwise, aligning the pointer of the lock with the word "OPEN." Now pull the shackle up and remove the cover.

Step 6

To charge Zenit-S, you must first fix the end of the film from the cassette on the take-up spool. Then, through the bottom, insert the cassette and the spool into the camera.

Step 7

Before opening the chamber for discharging, you must also first turn off the shutter by turning the ring switch, which is located under the release button, in the direction of the letter "P". Then, while rotating the film rewind head in the direction of the arrow, rewind the film into the cassette. Open the camera as described above.
