Making balloons from thread takes patience. The balls may not turn out perfect the first time. But the effort is worth it! String ball garlands are a great addition to a room's design.

It is necessary

  • - balloons "for water bombs" (ordinary ones are also possible, but it is very difficult to make a small balloon out of them, it will be uneven)
  • - container for glue made of plastic
  • - PVA glue and water in a 1: 1 ratio
  • -fat cream
  • - threads "Iris"
  • -needle
  • - paper, oilcloths, newspapers (so as not to stain the surface of the table)

Instructions

Step 1

First, we prepare the workplace. The work is very dirty, so cover the entire surrounding space with oilcloths or newspapers as tightly as possible.

Step 2

We take any plastic jar and make a hole at the bottom of the jar with a hot needle. It should correspond to the thickness of the thread so that the thread is evenly moistened, but the glue does not drain from it. Put a skein of thread of the desired color in a jar and thread the tip of the thread into the hole. In a separate container, mix an equal amount of PVA glue and water. Dilution with water is necessary not only for economical consumption of glue, but also for the beauty of the ball. Due to the dilution, there will be no dried adhesive film between the threads.

Step 3

Inflate the required number of balloons to the desired size and tie tightly. All balls must be the same, unless your own design suggests otherwise. We take one ball and grease its surface with a fat cream. This is necessary so that the threads, after drying, peel off well from the ball.

Step 4

Pour the glue mixture into a prepared jar with threads. It is advisable to put some kind of weight in the jar so that it does not move much when winding the thread. We take the end of the thread and evenly start winding it around the ball. The pattern needs to be made tighter so that in the future the ball sits neatly on the lace. When the winding is ready, we cut the thread, fix it by prying it under the threads of the previous rows. We do the same with all the other balls.

Step 5

Finished balls should be laid out on a clean oilcloth or paper and turned over about once every 1-1.5 hours so that they dry out evenly and do not stick to the surface. When the balloons are completely dry, pierce the balloon and gently pull it out of the product by the tail.

Step 6

We put the balls on an ordinary thick thread of a suitable color or lace. I made a braid string from threads of three colors included in the color gamut of the balls, but this turned out to be not fundamental, they are still practically invisible.
