Dollhouses were made three centuries ago. In the 18th century in Holland, wealthy ladies ordered craftsmen to make them. These houses were three or even four stories high, they were executed with the smallest details, from the paintings in the living room to the pans in the kitchen. These structures were large cabinets two meters high with glass doors, behind which the dolls "lived" their lives. Of course, playing with such a house was not very convenient. But the idea of the Dutch craftsmen can be realized with the help of scrap materials.
It is necessary
- boxes, stationery knife, scissors, scotch tape, PVA glue, white paper, colored self-adhesive, cardboard,
- scraps of fabric, pictures from magazines, stickers.
Instructions
Step 1
Working on a dollhouse will allow every member of your family to show a wide variety of talents, whether it be sewing, knitting, modeling and making doll furniture. First, decide, will it "live"? Evaluate your capabilities and decide what you can do - one doll room or a house with 2-3 floors?
Step 2
If you decide to start with one room, then you will need a box made of corrugated or regular thick cardboard. The minimum size of the box is 30x20 cm. It could be a regular shoebox. To make it spacious for dolls in such a room, and for girls to play comfortably, cut off the upper part of the box (if you are making a house from a shoe box, then you do not need to do this), as well as one or two adjacent walls (long and short). You will end up with a room with a floor and two adjacent walls.
Step 3
To get an apartment of several rooms, make four such blanks. If you arrange these blanks horizontally (in the shape of a cross), you get a one-story house with four rooms without external walls. Glue the parts together with tape and glue them to the common base with PVA glue. Thus, you will get a free approach to each room, therefore, it will be easier and more fun to play.
Step 4
A vertical multi-storey building is a little more difficult to build. Ideally, it should be made of plywood, like a cabinet with shelves and hinged front doors. You can instruct your dad or older brother to make such a design. But if this option is too difficult for you, use all the same boxes, and they can be of different sizes, because the rooms can be small and large! Place the boxes on top of each other so that the openings are one above the other. Then glue the touching edges and fasten the entire structure with tape. Make a triangular cardboard roof and place it on top. You can put a couple of toy kittens in the attic.
Step 5
Cover the walls of the rooms with the remnants of wallpaper or colored paper. Hang pictures on the walls (these can be all kinds of stickers or calendars). Hang curtains sewn from colorful patches on the windows. The interior of the rooms can be decorated with ready-made toy furniture, or you can make it yourself from cardboard or plywood. Make a carpet out of scraps of carpet (if it is not there, then you can knit or crochet the tracks). Cover the doll's bed with bedding made from all the same scraps.
Step 6
During the game, children will be able to add or remove something themselves. Come up with different situations, simulating life.
