With the onset of heat, you want to dress as simply and lightly as possible. And if you can choose T-shirts and shorts for yourself, then in the case of children's clothing you need to be more scrupulous. After all, a five-year-old girl wants not only comfort, but also beauty. The way out of the situation will be an elegant sundress, which will not be difficult to cut and sew.

Instructions

Step 1

Take measurements from the child. Using a tape measure, measure your bust, shoulder to knee (height varies as desired), shoulder to armpit.

Step 2

Take the pattern paper. Draw a vertical line (segment AB) - it is equal to the desired length of the sundress.

Step 3

Draw a line segment BV perpendicularly. This is the width of a sundress, equal to the half-girth of the chest with the addition of 3-5 cm for landing. If you want to make the sundress loose, increase its width and at the top make a drawstring for the braid, which will gather the fabric in flowing folds.

Step 4

From point A, measure the distance equal to the height of the armhole from the shoulder to the armpit. Perpendicular to point A, set aside the width of the armhole. This value changes depending on the age and, accordingly, the size of the child.

Step 5

Cut out the constructed part and use safety pins to pin it to the fabric (the share thread should be vertical). Cut out two identical pieces of the sundress - the back and the front.

Step 6

Fold over twice and hand baste the edges of the armhole, top and bottom of the garment, then machine stitch. After that, sweep and sew the parts together. Sew matching ribbons or straps, cut from the same fabric as the sundress, to the upper part.
