A simple pencil is one of the easiest drawing tools to learn. While drawing, they do not have to think about the color of the depicted objects. All attention can be focused on the plot.
Instructions
Step 1
Start by choosing the right tool itself. Practice shows that many artists are annoyed by the need to constantly sharpen a classic pencil, and they have to apply so much pressure to it when drawing that their fingers quickly get tired. The collet pencil partially removes the first, but by no means the second problem. Modern mechanical pencils with thin shafts are very convenient. Choose among them such that the channel for the lead, or better the entire body, is made of metal. Make sure that it is easy to reach consumables. To do this, buy a tool designed for rods with a diameter of 0.5 millimeters. Other leads (0.7 and 0.9 mm) are in short supply.
Step 2
An important factor is the softness of the pencil or rods to it. It is useless to give any general recommendations here that would suit all artists. Use the hardness that is most comfortable for you, that best suits your style.
Step 3
Learn to render different halftones with a pencil. Practice in the image of the gray scale in different ways: painting with variable strength, shading with different densities of strokes.
Step 4
Learn to draw perspective - you will need this skill when drawing in any technique, not just a simple pencil. If the prospect is not given to you (and it also happens), do not be upset. There are artists who create real masterpieces without using it at all. The same goes for the skills of believable faces: if you can't, portray them in caricatures.
Step 5
Remember the order of drawing strokes when depicting the object plane: under the dividing line, they should be horizontal, above it - vertical.
Step 6
Don't be fooled by advertisements for courses that offer you to improve your drawing skills in literally a day or two. Pay attention not the main secret of their leaflets. They actually depict drawings of people, taken before and after training. However, looking closely at them, we can conclude that the authors of these images drew well before the courses. It is impossible to teach drawing from scratch in one or two days.
