Instructions

Step 1

It is better to make premium sockets with your own hands from a satin ribbon. Take several varieties of tape: for the corners, a wider one (4-5 cm), for the rest, a narrower one (up to 2.5 cm). Choose the colors of the ribbons bright, but compatible with each other, so that the award rosette does not look ridiculous.

Step 2

For the base of the cardboard rosette, cut out a circle of the required diameter. The larger the diameter of the rosette, the less often you fold and vice versa. Lay the bow fold first from the seamy side, and then from the front, not forgetting that it should overlap by about half a centimeter.

Step 3

First, lay the tape 1cm so that the wrong sides meet. Then fold the tape inside out, but only on the side where the long end of the tape is. After that, lay the tape on the front side and alternate the folding of the folds. Repeat these steps until the length of the folded tape is equal to or slightly larger than the diameter of the circle you cut out.

Step 4

In order to make the joining of the two edges of the tape less noticeable, lay the last fold on the front side and cut it off 1 cm after the fold. Pull all the folds with a thread so that they hold well. Gently embroider the outer fold and place the end of the tape on its beginning to make a docking. Fold back the fold as originally, and sew the ends together. You should have a socket, which is subsequently sewn onto cardboard.

Step 5

Before sewing on the outlet, pierce the cardboard along the inner circle at approximately regular intervals. This is done in order to see from both sides whether the rosette is sewn evenly in a circle.

Step 6

We sew the rosette to the cardboard along the inner seam on the tape. After that, glue the eyelet and tails. Also hide all the seams, for which glue another circle of Whatman paper or colored cardboard on the seamy side. In the middle of the rosette, glue the exhibition emblem, after filling the gap between the tape with a circle of corrugated cardboard. If you are making a large rosette, make several small ones and put them one on top of the other.
