Work on the sequel to the controversial film began at Universal Pictures long before the official release date of the first part of "Fifty Shades of Gray" was announced. And although the film starts at the box office only in February 2015, it is already clear that the film studio, with its upcoming fees, will be able not only to cover all production and marketing costs, but also to get a solid profit from the tape.
The popularity of the book "Fifty Shades of Gray" is simply colossal - to date it has sold over 70 million copies worldwide. This novel in terms of sales speed surpassed not only the Harry Potter story from J. K. Rowling, but also the famous vampire saga by Stephenie Meyer. Therefore, on the part of the filmmakers, it is quite justified to wait for unprecedented box office receipts, and also subsequently to stretch the film adaptation into three, and possibly four films.
The director of the tape, Sam Taylor-Johnson, at a meeting with fans of the novel, announced that both sequel books would be turned into films. It is also already known: the performers of the main roles Dakota Johnson (student Anastacia Steele) and Jamie Dornan (millionaire Christian Gray) have signed contracts to participate in all the sequels of Fifty Shades of Gray. Thus, it is they who will embody the images of their heroes in the subsequent parts.
There is no official information about who will write the script "Fifty Shades Darker" (this is the name of the continuation of the scandalous novel). The writers of the first tape were Kelly Marcel and Erica Leonard James herself, the author of the sensational story. In addition, it remains a mystery who will play the roles of the new characters in the film: Leila (Christian's ex-partner), Jack Hyde (Anastacia's boss) and Elena Lincoln (Mrs. Robinson). The creators plan to start filming "50 Shades Darker" in June this year, and the premiere should take place according to preliminary data in March 2016. All fans of "Fifty Shades" can only wait and hope that the picture will meet these expectations.
