The technique of traditional Palekh painting can be used to decorate a wide variety of items - caskets, trays, paintings and much more. The month is one of the most beautiful and bright elements of Palekh painting; to draw it, you need gouache paints mixed with PVA glue. You can use thick cardboard as a surface for painting. You will also need different sized brushes.
It is necessary
- - gouache,
- - PVA glue,
- - cardboard,
- - brushes.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the main color with which you will paint over the month - pink or yellow. Put a few drops of PVA on a saucer or palette, dilute it in water, and then prime the cardboard on which you will paint with the resulting mixture. Dry the cardboard. Re-coat the prepared surface with diluted glue and dry again.
Step 2
When the cardboard is dry, draw a circle on it with a simple pencil. If you find it difficult to draw a circle by hand, use a compass for this. Draw the outline of the month in the circle - draw a profile, outlining the forehead, eye, eyebrow, nose, mouth and chin. Erase the extra lines of the circle so that only the outline of the month itself remains on the cardboard.
Step 3
Paint over the outline of the month with the base paint of your choice, and then outline the month along the outline with contrasting paint - black or dark blue. Separately highlight the eyes, eyebrow, nose and lips of the month with a thin brush to revive it.
Step 4
Now you need to make the month more voluminous - take a little more paint with which you painted over the general outline, and then add white paint to it to lighten the main tone. With the resulting shade, outline the outlines of the cheeks, forehead and eyebrows of the month, and also indicate the wing of the nose, bridge of the nose, lips, chin. Make your month volumetric with light reflexes. Dry the paint.
Step 5
Now add even more white paint to the main tone to get a very light shade, and apply another layer of paint on the highlighted areas, making small highlights, the size of which should be smaller than the size of the previous light spots.
Step 6
Dry the drawing again, and then add very small reflections of light with pure white paint on the tip of the brush. Apply white dots to the tip of your nose, the corners of your lips, the tip of your chin, and the middle of your month's cheek. Dry the drawing. The month is ready!
