Some stories even gave birth to multi-part projects that delight viewers with all the new adventures of their favorite characters. These include the famous Toy Story franchise. In the summer of 2019, this animated picture will finally return to the big screen after a nine-year hiatus.

For the first time "Toy Story" animation studio Pixar presented to the public back in 1995. At the behest of the writers, the toys in the film led a secret life that their owners did not even know about, and in each new part they faced many exciting adventures. The central characters in the franchise are Sheriff Woody and astronaut Buzz Lightyear. Since the debut film, actors Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have given their voices to these characters.
The creators of the animated film manage to maintain the unquenchable interest of viewers in the fictional world of living toys. That is why each next sequel shows more and more impressive box office receipts, in comparison with the previous parts. The total amount earned by the three already released films is $ 1.9 billion. This is the fifth most profitable animation franchise.
In addition, Toy Story has impeccable viewer ratings. On the reputable movie site Rotten Tomatoes, the first two films have 100% excellent ratings and the third 98%. Unsurprisingly, fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite toy characters. Although Pixar did not initially plan to release the fourth part, in 2014 it was announced that work on "Toy Story" was resumed.
The release of the film was postponed twice: first it was promised to be released in June 2017, then in June 2018, and only on the third attempt did they manage to finish the work on time. The world premiere will take place on June 21, 2019, and Toy Story 4 will be shown to Russian viewers a day earlier - on June 20.
In 2018, several teasers were released, in which new characters were presented - soft toys Ducky and Bunny (duck and rabbit). These bosom friends live in a stall and serve as the prize promised for winning the ride. They dream unsuccessfully that someone will win and take them home.
The official trailer appeared only on March 19, 2019, and its expanded international version was released on March 27.
The plot, actors, plans for the future
In the final of the third part of "Toy Story", Woody and his friends have a new owner - a girl Bonnie. But in the serene life of the heroes, a difficult period begins when their owner brings from Wilkins' school - a toy that she herself made from a fork. So Bonnie has a new favorite, and her former forgotten friends are left to quietly come to terms with this state of affairs. However, it is difficult for Wilkins to adapt to another role, he is upset and anxious, although the rest of the toys are trying to help him.
When Bonnie takes a new favorite with him on a trip, he suddenly decides to escape. Woody and his team go in search of Wilkins, but as a result of an accident, the sheriff is separated from the rest of the toys. While Buzz is trying to find an old friend, he meets an old love - a porcelain figurine of Bo Peep. Now she lives on the shelf of an antique store and enjoys freedom and adventure. Although Bo and Woody are happy to see each other again, they soon realize that during their separation they have acquired different philosophies of what it is like to be a toy.
The creators of Toy Story 4 have kept the original voices of characters from past films. In addition to Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Michael Keaton, Wallace Sean, Joan Cusack, Timothy Dalton, Keanu Reeves, Jody Benson, Blake Clark and many other famous actors again participated in the voicing of the characters.
By the way, thanks to modern technology, the filmmakers managed to do without changing the voice for Mr. Potato Head. Unfortunately, Don Rickles, who voiced this character in three parts, passed away in 2017. As told by Josh Cooley, the director of Toy Stories 4, with the permission of the family of the deceased, the voice acting for his character was created using the actor's old recordings for the first films, video games, TV series. With Rickles' posthumous participation in the project, the filmmakers paid tribute to his talent and irreplaceability.
The authors are cautious about the future future of Toy Story. Although one of the main stars - Tom Hanks - said in an interview about the end of the franchise, the film's producer Mark Nielsen does not rule out the option of returning the toys for a fifth time.
