Many girls like to dress up and have a lot of gizmos that help them feel more mature and independent. One of these accessories is a bag that young women of fashion can not only purchase, but also sew with their own hands.
It is necessary
- - the cloth;
- - fittings;
- - sewing accessories;
- - decorative elements (buttons, beads, sequins, etc.).
Instructions
Step 1
Decide on the size and purpose of the future product. So, for example, if you need a travel bag for a girl, it should be borne in mind that it should fit well into a large travel bag. Moreover, it should include at least a book, notebook or notebook, pens and pencils. If a beach bag is needed, then it should be more spacious. While for various small accessories you can sew a pocket bag.
Step 2
Pick up the fabric, the necessary accessories and materials for decorating the bag. Then make a pattern, first on paper, and then transfer it to the fabric using soap, crayon or a water marker. For sewing a bag for a girl, you can use any fabric that does not stretch and is quite pleasant to the touch. For example, you can use gabardine and use flannel for the lining. Optionally, you can also use denim, chintz, calico, satin, felt and other materials.
Step 3
To make a pocket bag, think of what shape it should be (for example, it can be a circle, square, trapezoid). Cut two identical pieces out of the fabric, sew them together, and turn them right out. If you want, you can sew in a zipper or attach any other type of fastener, and then sew on a narrow long handle. To decorate such a bag, you can use applique, beads, lace, embroidery or sequins.
Step 4
If the bag is supposed to be of a more complex cut, make a pattern for the fabric and lining. Then sew the top and lining separately. Then connect it to the top of the bag and sew them along the top edge of the bag. You can do this in several ways. For example, bend the edges of the fabric on both sides by 2-3 cm inward and sew them, stepping back about 3 mm from the edge. You can also fasten them together using a separately cut strip-bar. Its length should correspond to the sum of the 3 lengths of the edges of the product. Sew the lining first: Sew the perimeter placket to the three sides of the pattern (bag sides and bottom) of the front and back. Then do the same with the main fabric, then insert the lining inside the bag, and sew a zipper on top.
Step 5
As for the handles, if you wish, you can sew them inside or from the sides of the bag. To sew the handles inward, insert them between the front fabric and the lining before sewing on the zipper, baste them so that they do not move during sewing. Then sew while sewing in the zipper. If you decide to make handles on the side, then first outline at what distance on each side you will do it. Tuck the edges of the handles inward and sew to the face fabric (it is better to sew several times to make the seams stronger). Alternatively, you can also sew rings to the bag and attach handles to them.
