Leggings are a very comfortable and practical thing. They can be worn in autumn and winter. Leggings worn under a long sweater or short dress will look beautiful. In addition, knitted from woolen yarn, they will keep feet warm in cold weather.
It is necessary
350-400 g of yarn, needles No. 2, 5
Instructions
Step 1
Build a drawing of leggings. An example is given for a hip circumference of 101 cm and an ankle circumference of 22 cm. The leggings are 98 cm long, the stride length is 75 cm.
Draw a vertical line through the middle of the sheet. This will be the middle line. Step back 4 cm from the top edge of the sheet and draw a horizontal line. This will be the waist line. Mark the point of intersection of the two lines with the letter T.
From this point along the middle line, set aside three segments: TH, equal to 98 cm (leggings length), TS, 30 cm long (1/4 of the hip circumference plus 4 cm for a free fit) and TL, equal to 37.5 cm (half the length step). Draw horizontal lines through points W, L and H. You will get a step line, a gusset connection line and a bottom line, respectively.
To the left and right of the T point, set aside 26 cm (¼ the size of the hip circumference). Name points T1 and T2. The waistline for the front half of the leggings will be TT1.
Draw vertical lines from points T1 and T2 to their intersection with horizontal lines drawn through points L and W. Mark the points of intersection as L1, L2 and W1, W2.
To the right and left of H, set aside 11 cm (1/2 the size of the ankle circumference). Name the points H1 and H2. Connect points L1 and H1, L2 and H2. You will get beveled lines along the inside seam.
To get an allowance for the length of the seat, set aside a segment equal to 2 cm from T2. Mark the point as T3.
Connect points T and T3. You will get the waistline for the back half of the leggings.
Step 2
Leggings are knitted from bottom to top from two halves. Knitting density - 3 loops 1 cm horizontally and 4, 5 rows of 1 cm vertically.
Start knitting at the cuff. Cast on 66 loops on the needles (the size of the H1H2 segment) and knit with an elastic band 1x1 or 2x2 2-3 cm.
Step 3
Continue the work with a simple stocking knit: front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops (you can choose another pattern).
From the cuff to the gusset joining line, add the same number of stitches over the specified number of rows. For our example, add 45 stitches on each side in every sixth row.
Add loops one at a time on both sides of the canvas, pulling new loops from the gap between the front loops. You should have 156 stitches.
Step 4
From line L1L2 to line Ш1Ш2 knit an even fabric 7.5 cm (the length of the segment ЛШ is determined by subtracting the size of the segment TSh from the size of the segment TL).
The length of the segment ЛШ is the size of one side of the square gusset. It will be sewn into points Ш1, Л1, Ш2, Л2. To mark these points, hang pins from the edges of the canvas or make a mark with ordinary thread.
Step 5
Having tied up to the Sh1Sh2 line, start performing disposable darts in the back half of the leggings.
Work half (78) of knit sts. Do not tie the remaining loops. Turn the work over to the wrong side. From the seamy side, at the beginning of the row, remove the first loop as an edging, without knitting. Next, knit 78 purl stitches.
Thus, you will knit 2 extra rows in the back of the leggings, i.e. do a one-time dart. Then knit 12 rows and sew another one-time dart. In total, you have to make 9 darts every 12 rows.
Knitting from the side of the segment Ш2Т2 should be 4 cm more.
Step 6
Next, carry out an allowance along the waist line of 2 cm (the height of the segment T2T3).
Knit starting from the front side. Knit 63; do not knit the remaining 93. Turn the work over to the wrong side and knit 63 purl loops.
In the third row, knit 48 front loops, in the fourth - 48 purl. Then knit 32 knit stitches in the fifth row, and purl 32 in the sixth row. In the seventh row, make 16 front loops, in the next - 16 purl.
Next, from the right side, knit 156 loops to the end of the row. According to the figure, make loops from the seamy side.
Step 7
Finish knitting with a belt 2-4 cm wide. Knit the belt with a double elastic band.
Step 8
Tie the second half of the leggings in the same way as the first, but in a mirror image. Start knitting darts from the seamy side.
Step 9
Tie a square gusset. The side of the square will be 7.5 cm. When knitting the gusset, add a simple thread to the main thread.
Step 10
Fold the halves of leggings with the right sides, steam and sew with a knitted seam.
