Step 1
Cast on the knitting needles in the traditional way, and starting from the first row, knit the selected pattern. This edge is considered universal and fits any product.
Step 2
Use a cord-like hem for knitting mohair. To do this, fold the thread that is used to set the loops in three, and knit the first row from the main thread with the selected pattern.
Step 3
Loop on the hem that forms the buttonhole in the safest way. To do this, pull all the dialed loops with a knitting needle through the first loop. Use this edge also where you need to hold the shape firmly.
Step 4
Use the "Bulgarian set" to knit a beautiful and durable edge of the product. To do this, in front of the traditional set, leave a free end of the thread, twice the length of the edge of the product. Then knit 1st row with double thread (main and set thread), 2nd row with main thread. When knitting the 3rd row, knit the loops with purl loops, and the broaches with the front loops.
Step 5
Decorate the edges of mittens, scarves or jumpers with fringed hem. To do this, dial the first loop in the traditional way, and for the second, grab both threads on the index finger with two knitting needles and bring them into the loop on the thumb. Then release your thumb and tighten a knot under the needles. Reattach the thread from the ball to your index finger and tie the fringe to the desired length. Knit the resulting double loops in the first row together.
Step 6
Use an edge called a "thickened edge" to decorate and reinforce garter stitches. To do this, make a set of loops in the same way as for products for mohair, folding the thread in three. Unlike the cord-like edge, here the loops are cast alternately - one from the inside and the other from the outside of the thumb. To make the hem openwork, in the first row, knit two loops together with a front loop for the back threads, and make a yarn between them.
