On the Internet, we constantly see beautiful pictures of letters and symbols. Silhouettes of all kinds of question marks or dots look really cool. In fact, not only an artist, but also anyone who wishes can cope with such a task. To do this, you just need to remember a few simple instructions.

Instructions

Step 1

Decide what exactly you want to draw. For example, a heart.

Step 2

Using spaces and the selected symbol draw a rough outline for the intended image. It is best to use lowercase characters ($, @, numbers or letters) for this. Leave enough space around the path to add shadows and a frame later.

Step 3

Now you need to work on the created contour, make it smoother, so that the picture will recognize what is actually drawn on it. To do this, select small symbols (asterisks, dots or any other, the main thing is that they are smaller in size than the symbols used for the rough outline) and "circle" the drawing with them until the desired parts acquire the desired shape. That is, you need to ensure that, for example, the top of the heart begins to resemble two smooth semicircles.

Step 4

After the outline is ready, proceed to the filling. In such a picture, you can also convey the volume. This is done using lighter areas and darker areas. The bright area is left where light is supposedly falling on the subject. In hearts, for example, a small space is usually left at the top of the right semicircle. So, first we will work on the dark parts. We select symbols of the appropriate size in such a way as to fill the required space inside the outline. At the same time, we bypass the assumed glare.

Step 5

The highlight can be filled with smaller characters (the area will look "more transparent" than the rest of the picture), or you can simply leave it white.

Step 6

The final touch is the outline for the drawing itself. The best way to do this is to use dash characters. So, for example, if you outline a heart with such symbols on the right (repeating the shape of its contour with the drawing), it will look like a shadow, which will give the drawing even more volume. So you can just create very interesting pictures.
