When decorating an interior, we are often forced to find a compromise between practicality and heavy weight of furniture. Accessories made of lightweight materials will help make the task easier. So, you can use a simple shelf for books without partitions instead of a massive structure by placing cardboard book holders on it.

It is necessary

  • - cardboard;
  • - paper;
  • - ruler;
  • - pencil;
  • - scissors;
  • - glue.

Instructions

Step 1

The first version of the shelf consists of "corners". Make a preliminary drawing of the model on paper. The first fragment of the structure consists of two plates of equal height, leaning against each other with their upper faces - so that the angle between them and the surface on which they stand forms an isosceles triangle. Then draw a straight line to the lower right corner of this triangle - this piece of cardboard will connect the first piece to the second. The second consists of two unequal rectangles. The first one, the smaller one, is inclined to the left and parallel to the side of the first isosceles triangle. The second rectangle attached to it is longer than the first one so that it touches the surface on which the stand stands. Then another horizontal connecting strip follows and the pattern is repeated. Make a stand of as many oblique "waves" as you need to accommodate all the books. The structure must end with the same isosceles triangle as at the beginning.

Step 2

Determine the dimensions of the stand. Its height should be equal to the height of the largest book, width - the width of the books. The distance between the triangles should be 5-7 books leaning against each other.

Step 3

In accordance with the found dimensions, cut out rectangular parts for the stand. Connect them in series according to the drawing. Fastening is best done with sheets of paper glued to two parts to be joined. After the stand is dry, cover it with scrapbooking paper to make the book holder not only comfortable, but also beautiful. Spread PVA glue over the entire surface of the stand and apply paper, smoothing from the center to the edges to remove air bubbles.

Step 4

You can put books on the first and last fragment of the stand, using the top of the triangle as a bookmark. Keep in mind that storing books in an unfolded and tilted position on such a stand for a long time can destroy the spine. To preserve valuable books, you can make a similar stand by erecting cardboard squares connected to each other instead of triangles.
