Hand embroidery, even the most modest one, will help to revitalize the home interior. A good frame can greatly enhance the dignity of the work and make it a true home decoration.
It is necessary
- - baguette;
- - mat;
- - glass.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the shape of the frame for the picture: for a rectangular work, choose a rectangular frame, for an oval one - an oval one, for a round one - a round one. When determining the size of the frame, keep in mind that the embroidery looks best when its edges are separated by margins from the frame. Choose a frame that is at least 2-4 cm larger than your painting.
Step 2
When choosing a color, emphasize the basic tone of the embroidery. Be careful with colors that do not appear in the work - they should not distract attention to themselves, but only highlight the colors of the work by contrast. If you have not found a suitable color in the finished frames, you can paste over them with the fabric of your choice (this method is suitable for flat frames).
Step 3
Decorate the embroidery in a frame with a mat - a cardboard insert between the frame and the work, which is cut out according to the shape of the work and represents a white or colored field a few centimeters between the picture and the frame. Protect the embroidery with glass, however, be aware that regular glass will glare. Various types of glass are now offered to avoid this effect. Attach the glass to the work in the frame and the mat, check if the overall appearance has not become worse.
Step 4
Assemble all parts of the picture yourself: it is very important to properly fasten the embroidery with the design, so that you can then take it out of the frame. This is painstaking work that should not be entrusted.
Step 5
Wash and iron the work by placing it face down on a terrycloth towel. Cut the cardboard to the size of the canvas and glue the embroidery with a special glue that does not leave marks on the fabric (apply the glue with a “grid” on the cardboard). You can do without glue: fold the canvas onto the other side of the cardboard and pull the opposite edges with threads (the threads form a lattice).
Step 6
See if the glass is too tightly attached to the assembled embroidery. If the glass flattens the job, insert strips of cardboard between the glass and the frame. Cut out another piece of cardboard that will cover the turn of the embroidery and fastening. Put in succession: a cardboard backdrop, a picture on a cardboard, a mat, glass, fasten everything with a frame.
