Georgy Martirosyan was born in early 1948 in Rostov-on-Don, into a family that had nothing to do with theater or cinema, and indeed art or creativity. He grew up a little hooligan, and even bore the nickname "Old Man Makhno", but at the same time he managed to study well. From a young age, the boy showed leadership qualities, was a ringleader and aspired to acting in any of its manifestations:
- classes in the school theater and drama studio,
- active participation in amateur performances,
- admission to the theatrical institute of Rostov at the age of 16,
- military service in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the North Caucasus District.
Georgy Martirosyan's acting career began in the Rostov theaters - drama and youth theater. In 1973, he was invited by a friend to Moscow, and immediately accepted into the permanent cast of the Gorky Film Studio.
