An origami sunflower is a very unusual and beautiful figurine. This paper flower was invented by English designer Paul Jackson. Origami is one of his professional interests. He even wrote several creative works on the art of origami.
Instructions
Step 1
To create a sunflower figurine, you need two identical square sheets of paper. The flower is made up of a pre-prepared regular octagon.
Step 2
To make an octagon, place the colored side of the paper up. Fold the piece of paper in half a few times, you should have a square. Roll the square into a triangle. Mark the folds well and unfold the sheet.
Step 3
Fold the corners of the square towards the center, then fold the corners to the sides of the square to form a square in the center. Fold the octagon again along the marked lines.
Step 4
Bend the sharp upper corner to the lower base of the figure on one side, then bend and wrap the other side and also bend it.
Step 5
Expand the resulting octagon to the shape described in step 3.
Step 6
Flip the shape over to its side. Begin to bend the protruding corners along the fold lines made in step 4. Continue folding along the lines from the old octagon until you have a house-like shape.
Step 7
Bend the outer petals down, flip the sides like an accordion and bend the petals in the same way. After you have bent all the petals, you have protruding corners at the bottom. In these places, bend the protruding corners along the lines in the same way in relation to the other petals. Gently begin to open the flower, pressing the core forward with your fingers. You have got an extraordinary sunflower.
