"Brumstick" is a pattern that originated in Peru. Therefore, it is often called "Peruvian knitting". The broomstick pattern combines long loops and single crochets (with a crochet, two crochets, etc.). The main element of the broomstick is long loops that form beautiful curls.
It is necessary
A hook, a pair of heavy needles or a ruler, or one heavy needle
Instructions
Step 1
Cast on a chain of 35 stitches. The number of loops must be calculated in advance. For example, from 35 air loops, you can form 5 curls of 7 loops, or 7 curls of 5 loops. Before knitting a large product, you need to knit a sample, measure it and calculate the number of loops that you need to dial.
Step 2
Pull the last loop of the chain (open loop) and put it on two thick knitting needles (you can use one knitting needle or a ruler). The height of the loop will depend on the thickness of the auxiliary knitting needle.
Step 3
Cast on loops from the chain (35 loops in total) and put them on the auxiliary knitting needles, the edge should be even.
Step 4
Fold seven extended stitches together and tie them with seven single crochet stitches (without removing from the needles).
Step 5
Remove the long stitches from the needles, fold the next seven stitches together and tie them with seven single crochet stitches.
Step 6
Repeat steps 4-5 to the end of the row. You should get 5 curls.
Step 7
To separate curls, you can knit several rows with single crochet (or double crochet). You can not knit additional rows, but immediately start knitting the second row of curls.
Step 8
Pull the loops from the stitches of the previous row and put them on the auxiliary knitting needles (steps 2-3).
Step 9
Repeat steps 4-5 to the end of the row.
Step 10
Continue to knit the fabric to the required length. The edge of the canvas turns out to be uneven, in order to sew it, you will need to tie the edge with single crochet posts.
