Flowers made from fabric are as beautiful as real flowers, but much more durable. They will delight in a hairpin, in an ornament for a dress, you can make panels and bouquets of them. The advantage of hand-made flowers is that you can "grow" any, the most exotic flower. Today it will be an orchid …
It is necessary
- - white, pink (or other color) and green silk fabric;
- - gelatin;
- - cardboard templates of parts;
- - paints on batik or fabric;
- - scissors, knife, thin brush;
- - wire;
- - cotton wool;
- - glue;
- - a sponge, a cutting board and a teaspoon;
- - thin wire.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a spoonful of gelatin and fill it with a glass of water. When the gelatin swells (after two hours), heat it up in a water bath. Then dip the pieces of prepared fabrics into gelatin and, without wringing, hang to dry (so that the fabric does not stick together).
Step 2
When the fabric is dry and looks like paper, cut out the parts according to the template. You can make the template yourself by looking at the photo of the flower. We suggest making two details: one white with three petals, one pink with two petals with a fan-shaped "tongue", and another green with four thin leaves.
Step 3
Now color in the details. White - in stripes from the middle to the edges, gradually reducing to nothing, choose the color based on the color of the details.
Step 4
Crimp the petals and leaves. To do this, heat a knife on gas, check on an unnecessary piece of fabric so that the knife does not burn through the fabric. Place the parts on a cutting board and draw lines with a knife from the center to the edges, also first pressing and canceling. Warm up the knife from time to time.
Step 5
Now bend the petals. Put the white ones on a sponge, press also with a heated spoon - the petals bent inward. On the second part, bend the tongue strongly inward, and the two petals outward. Proceed as you see fit.
Step 6
Place the leaves on the wire first, then the white petals, then the pink ones with a tongue criss-cross, gluing the parts together. Wrap the end of the wire with cotton wool, make a cotton ball at the tip, fasten with glue. This is a pistil, paint it white.
Step 7
Wrap the other end of the wire with cotton wool and cover with green silk. Now the orchid can be planted on a hairpin, sewn to a dress. And if you make a stem from a wire, then a flower for a bouquet will come out. Then you will need more orchids. Go for it!
