In the cold season, there is no better wardrobe item than a warm and comfortable sweater. A men's sweater knitted by your hands will keep the person you give it warm on cold winter days. For knitting a men's jumper, prepare 700 g of soft and warm yarn - this amount is enough to knit a jumper for size 46-48. Knit the jumper with the correct diameter knitting needles.
Instructions
Step 1
Start knitting the jumper from the back. Knit from the bottom up. Cast on the needles the required number of loops, after tying the sample and calculating the knitting density so that the width of the back is 50 cm. Tie two rows with a 2x2 elastic band.
Step 2
Continue knitting the elastic with the right side, knitting a second front loop in every third column of it, without removing the first loop from the knitting needle, and then knit the first loop and remove both loops from the left knitting needle.
Step 3
Then knit the back row of the elastic in the usual way. This method of knitting the front rows will allow you to create beautiful embossed tracks on the elastic. Knit an elastic band 8 cm wide, and then start knitting the main pattern of the jumper - knit squares from the front loops and alternate them with squares of "rice" weaving.
Step 4
Knit five strips of equal squares of the back, and then knit a raglan line, in each front row, knitting the outer loops in the form of two front loops, two crossed, one purl loop, and also knit two loops together with a purl loop. Knit the back row in the same way as the front row. Tie the back to the end and transfer the open neck loops to an additional thread.
Step 5
In front of the jumper, knit in the same way as the back, to the raglan line. Transfer the middle eight loops to an additional thread and then knit from two balls, in each front row, decreasing the loops along the raglan line. In the line of the neckline, subtract the loops in every fourth row.
Step 6
Having finished the neckline, tie the sleeves from the bottom up - start with a 2x2 cuff, 8 cm wide, and then tie the sleeves to the end, decreasing the loops on the raglan line. Sew on the seamy side along the raglan lines with a knitted stitch. Iron the sewn product and steam.
