Natalia Petrovna Rozhdestvenskaya is a unique opera singer of the Soviet era, who was awarded the title "People's Artist of the RSFSR" in 1947. She is the winner of the "Grand Prix" for the best performance of the libretto in 1963, a wonderful wife and mother, a respected actress of her generation.

Biography

The future singer was born in the city of Nizhny Novgorod (Russian Empire) on April 24 (May 7) 1900. She grew up a kind, sympathetic girl, loved to listen to the sounds of music. Since childhood, she decided to devote herself to vocals.

Career

After receiving secondary education, a gifted girl from a small town entered a higher educational institution in Moscow, a theater university. She was immediately noticed by the teachers, discerned a subtle, sensual nature. She began her first performances as a student in 1926, she was invited to concerts, small holidays. Eminent teachers S. I. Druzyakin and A. B. Hessin were proud of their student and predicted a great future.

After graduating from GITIS, she performed mainly on the concert stage, devoted a lot of time to chamber singing. From 1929 to 1960 she served in the All-Union radio, was a soloist. Thanks to her future spouse, whom she met at one of the concerts, she constantly developed her artistic taste, read a lot of special literature, constantly looked for something new for her future career.

She made a great contribution to the popularization of various works of the great classics of the country and abroad, contemporary poets and composers. She has translated many operas, librettos and individual parts into Russian; she has performed a large number of sung roles.

The most memorable parts are: Fervonia from Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia, The Countess - The Weddings of Figaro, Donna Anna - The Stone Guest (Mozart's opera buffet) (opera by Alexander Dorgomyzhsky).

Personal life

An outstanding woman of her generation, who captivated the audience with a beautiful and gentle soprano. She lived and breathed music, survived the hard times of the revolution, the Great Patriotic War, retained love and faith in people. The singer's husband, famous conducting theorist, teacher and connoisseur of musical history Nikolai Anosov always supported his wife, they went through all the hardships together. They were happy in marriage, they raised an equally famous son, Gennady Rozhdestvensky.

Previously, it was not customary to consecrate personal life, to flaunt relationships. There is little information in the archives about the wonderful family of professional musicians.

Natalia lived a long, happy life. She was buried at the Vvedenskoye cemetery in Moscow on September 1, 1997. But the dynasty of the great masters of the world of classical and modern music is continued by children and grandchildren who have devoted themselves to art.
