Going on the road, we often take with us things that can facilitate our journey, provide comfort and convenience. Among such things, I include a neck pillow - a comfortable device for adults and children. I always make the pillow myself, it's easy. And I suggest you try to sew this useful thing for yourself.
It is necessary
- • A piece of fabric measuring 90 × 150 cm.
- • Matching threads and padding polyester.
Instructions
Step 1
For a pillow, it is better to take a dense, wear-resistant fabric made from natural, easy-to-wash fibers. We iron the fabric on both sides with steam in case it suddenly shrinks. Then we fold it in half with the front side inward, on one of the sides with special chalk (you can take a sharpened remnant), transfer the pattern.
Step 2
On the inside of the details of the future pillow, lined on the fabric, we pin the fabric with pins. This must be done in several places along the line to avoid movement during cutting.
Step 3
We cut out the future product with a 1 cm allowance along the edge. Thus, you have 2 details. We sew them on a typewriter with an ordinary machine seam 1 cm from the edge, leaving a small gap (4-5 cm) on one side in order to unscrew the product afterwards (do not forget the setting, otherwise the seam will immediately begin to unfold).
Step 4
Cut the seam allowances by 5 mm and put the cuts in the places indicated in the pattern. These cuts are necessary so that the seam does not pull the fabric in the area of the inner circumference and does not affect the desired shape of the product.
Step 5
We turn the connected parts onto the face. Through the left gap of the neck pillow, push fluffy lumps of padding polyester into it. Regarding the degree of filling of the product, here everyone regulates it himself, depending on individual preferences. The only criterion is that the pillow should be elastic, easy to keep in shape, and not wrinkle.
Step 6
After filling the pillow with padding polyester, close the gap with a blind manual seam, or simply stitching it with a sewing machine 1-2 mm from the edge. Done!
