A scarf is perhaps the easiest knitted garment to make. You don't have to be a jack of all trades to tie it yourself. It will be enough for you to simply be able to perform elementary loops on the knitting needles - purl and front. Nevertheless, even the simplest scarf can be a very effective and fashionable accessory.
It is necessary
- - knitting needles;
- - yarn.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start knitting, you need to decide what length, width and density your product should be. Depending on this, buy the required number of woolen threads and the correct number of knitting needles. It is better to buy soft yarn, since the scarf will come into contact with the delicate skin on the neck.
Step 2
The easiest way to knit a scarf is knit. You just need to cast on the required number of loops and knit with the front ones. The exception is the first and last loops (edging): the first one, without knitting, is dropped onto the right knitting needle, and the last one is made with the purl. This pattern is more suitable for melange yarns.
Step 3
Another easy option for making a scarf is knitting with an elastic band. There are several types of rubber bands: English, Polish, transverse, simple, etc. A scarf knitted in this way keeps its shape well and fits almost everything. In addition, it turns out to be two-sided.
Step 4
To knit a scarf with a simple elastic band, cast an even number of loops on the knitting needles, depending on the desired width of the product. Then work according to the following scheme: first row - 1 edge * 2 front, 2 purl * 1 edge. In all subsequent rows, the front loops are knitted above the front ones, and the purl loops are knitted above the purl ones.
Step 5
You can also try knitting the scarf with an English elastic band. The number of loops is again even, the English elastic is knitted as follows: the first row - 1 hem * 1 front, 1 purl * 1 hem. Second row - 1 hem * 1 front, 1 straight yarn, remove the back loop without knitting * 1 hem. The third row repeats the first, etc.
