A house made of matches can be a great souvenir. You don't need any gimmicks, glue or fasteners to create this architectural masterpiece. Matchhouse material can be found in any store.
It is necessary
Six boxes of matches, smooth surface (table, book), coin, colorless varnish
Instructions
Step 1
Take two matches and place them side by side, heads to one side. The distance between the matches should be slightly less than the length of the match. On these two matches, place the flooring of eight matches. The outermost matches of the upper flooring form a square with the lower ones.
Step 2
We lay the next layer perpendicular to the first. Strive to ensure that the distances between the matches are even. Next, make a semblance of a well from seven rows of matches. It should be flat. The heads of matches in the well are arranged in a circle.
Step 3
Carefully lay a deck of eight matches on the well. Make the direction of the matches in the upper deck opposite to the direction of the matches in the lower deck. Now lay out another flooring - from six matches (add the last ones later). Press the entire structure on top with a coin, it will act as a press. Now you can work with the house by pressing it with your finger. Without a coin, matches will stick to your fingers.
Step 4
Stick the corner matches vertically with their heads up. Move the matches of the lower flooring loosely with a match. Hold the house with one finger so that it rests on the lower matches. As a result, four corner matches are inserted through the top and bottom decks.
Step 5
Carefully insert matches along the sides of the house along the perimeter, while pushing the flooring apart with a free match. Now the coin can be taken out, it has worked its way.
Step 6
Take the house in your hands and squeeze it from all sides. Press the matches that go along the perimeter to the end so that they press the flooring with their heads. We got a square from the heads of matches, it will serve as the foundation of the house.
Step 7
Place the house on the foundation. The structure is now a frame, from which the tips of matches stick out in different directions. These ends will be the top of the house.
Step 8
We build walls. They will consist of two layers of matches, vertical and horizontal. Insert vertical matches on one side of the house. Do the same for the remaining three walls. Insert matches with the heads up.
Step 9
We proceed to laying out the horizontal layer of the walls. Place the matches in a circle, as if building a well. The ends of the matches alternate with the heads. After inserting all the matches, press in the heads of the horizontal matches. They should press the matches of the adjacent wall.
Step 10
We start making the roof. Insert the missing matches into the corner holes. Take out half of them up, tucking vertical matches from the bottom. You can work freely, the house will no longer be able to fall apart.
Step 11
Place the roof matches perpendicular to the top deck. Start at the edges and place two, then four, then six, and in the middle two rows - eight matches. Alternate the directions of the matches.
Step 12
Between protruding vertical matches, insert the matches with their heads towards the middle. They will play the role of shingles. Press these matches with the side heads, pressing on them with your fingers. The process is very laborious.
Step 13
Your house is ready. Decorate it with a pipe, windows and an entrance door. They can be laid out from broken matches inserted into the walls. To make the house more durable, apply one or two coats of colorless varnish to its surface. This will give it a more perfect look.
