LED downlights are very popular. They do not heat up, do not break, have a long service life, operate at safe voltages and give an even light. Such luminaires are very economical, so their field of application is extremely wide. Our tips will help you make your own LED flashlight.

It is necessary

  • regular flashlight powered by two AA batteries
  • super bright white LEDs L-53PWC Kingbright
  • capacitor C2 - K10-17b
  • Schottky diode - SM5818
  • micropower step-up DC / DC converter MAX756

Instructions

Step 1

Homemade LED flashlight will become an indispensable assistant for any avid tourist. For ease of use, you can print or draw a typical LED turn-on circuit. Then get to work.

Step 2

Install the circuit in a hinged way. DIP-microcircuit legs serve as "reference" points. The circuit design must be placed in the empty space of the light emitting assembly of the original flashlight. Do not solder the LEDs to preserve the possibility of returning to using a regular light bulb. To do this, make 4 cuts in the flange of the flashlight, where and arrange the LEDs in a circle symmetrically.

Step 3

Solder the positive terminals to the base near the cut, and insert the negative terminals from the inside into the central hole of the base. Then they need to be cut and soldered.

Step 4

As a result, LEDs are placed in place of a conventional incandescent lamp in a modified flashlight.

Step 5

In much the same way, you can independently make a real LED lamp for your home. To do this, you need an old lamp with a shade and a base with six holes for LEDs. All elements of the LED lamp are mounted on a circle made of double-sided foil-coated fiberglass. On one side of it, cut out areas with a cutter for soldering a chain of LEDs, on the other - for elements of a transformerless power supply 18V 25mA. Next, the resulting board is fixed with hot melt glue, closed with a lid and inserted into the base. The homemade lamp is ready.
