Everyone knows how to sculpt figures from plasticine. This material is available, it lends itself well to processing, but, unfortunately, products made from it are short-lived. If you want to extend the lifespan of your decorative sculptures, use salted dough to make crafts. It is quite simple to make such a figurine, and the memory of the toy will remain for a long time.
It is necessary
- - wheat flour, 500 g;
- - finely ground table salt, 200 g;
- - cold water, 200 ml;
- - vegetable oil;
- - capacity;
- - pencil;
- - brush;
- - awl;
- - acrylic paints or gouache.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare salted dough for sculpting. In this case, it is important to observe all proportions. Pour salt into the prepared container, fill it with water and stir until the salt is completely dissolved. Now add flour to the water, stirring constantly. Stir the dough until it stops sticking to your hands. The dough should become elastic. If you prepare the composition in advance, then after preparation, wrap it in a plastic bag and place it in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Prepare your sculpting workspace. Place an oilcloth or plastic wrap on the table. Choose a wooden board on which you will sculpt the figures (ordinary thick cardboard will do as well). You may also need a pencil, a brush for the final coloring of the figures, an awl. Also prepare a glass of vegetable oil.
Step 3
It is best to color the dough before making the figurines. Prepare gouache or acrylic paints of the desired colors. It is desirable that the paint has a sufficiently thick (pasty) consistency. Add water to the paint if necessary.
Step 4
Take a small piece of dough and roll it into a ball. Make a small indentation in the center of the ball and place the paint there. Now knead the dough until the entire piece is evenly colored.
Step 5
In this way, prepare all the blanks for the parts that will make up your figure. Of course, for this you must already have a certain image of the sculpture, and it is even better to first sketch it on paper.
Step 6
Perform elementary parts from the dough that together make up a figure. These can be spheres, sausages, balls of different sizes. To shape the pieces of dough into the desired shape, treat it as you would ordinary plasticine, rolling it in the palms of your hands or on a wooden board. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, lightly smear your hands with vegetable oil.
Step 7
If you need flat pieces, press down on the pieces with your fingers or palms. The dough ribbon can be obtained by rolling the sausage on a board with a pencil. With a little practice, you will quickly master the sculpting of various shapes.
Step 8
From the received parts, collect the figures you need. These can be three-dimensional images of people or animals, or even entire sculptural groups. Here you can show all your imagination. It will be very nice if you do this kind of creativity together with your children. They will tell you the plot of the craft, and they will be able to complete individual simple parts of the figures on their own.
