For cross-country skiing, it is necessary to lubricate the sliding surface of the skis with holding ointments. Holding ointments are designed to keep the skier from slipping ("kickback") when pushing. The right choice and the right technique for applying the ointment will guarantee you a normal ride in any weather.
It is necessary
- - a set of ointments (3-4 pieces are enough);
- - rubbing cork;
- - scraper;
- - remover for ski wax
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the area of the ski to apply the grip ointment to. These ointments are applied under the ski block (the block is the middle part of the ski, it starts from the heel and continues some distance up from the mount). The length of the last depends on the total length of the skis. The usual length of this area is 60-75 cm.
Step 2
Spread a briquette with ointment on the ski under the block. Try to spread evenly. After that, rub the ointment with a rubbing cork until a shiny, even layer of ointment forms on the sliding surface of the ski.
Step 3
Returning home, it is advisable to clean the skis of the ointment. Remove most of the ointment with a scraper. Spray a special cleaner on the sliding surface of the skis. Wipe off any remaining ointment with a cloth.
